If I were to write a book I would title it, Labyrinth of a Woman’s Life
The 7 circuit labyrinth (cretin) is a symbol that I hold dear. I have created several large labyrinths and have worked with this metaphor now for many, many years. This labyrinth took 9 months to build in Northern Ireland.
It signifies the many twists and turns, been thrown out to the rim, and back unexpectedly to the centre. There is only one way in, and one way out…. It holds the ‘in breath’ (inspiration) and the ‘out breath’ (expiration).
The sense of journey and movement and the opportunity to continually reflect and be responsive to who and what is calling, and be able to answer that call knowing that the path I am walking is one that has God at the heart and is my “turangawaewae”.
We shall not cease from exploration, and the end of all our exploring will be to arrive where we started and know the place for the first time. Through the unknown, unremembered gate.
